Fall Foliage and Planter Decorations
Project Group Name: United Neighbors of Colonial Village
Neighborhood: West Pullman Year: 2021
Project Description: Seeking to spread seasonal joy, this project group brought their neighbors together to decorate 16 planters in their community area. Volunteers from 8 different blocks planted fall foliage and installed decorative centerpieces in their planters, adding a pop of seasonal color to their streets.
In their Words
"Our main objective is to beautify our community in order for the community to take pride in where they live and participate in keeping the planters with flowers and other arrangements according to the season. The project also was aimed to bring the community together. So far this seems to be working for the community. We see the difference in the number of neighbors attending the community monthly meetings. The more we work on projects together the more we learn about the people we work with."
