A Safe Haven is a nonprofit organization in Chicago that provides a range of services, including case management, job training and placement, educational classes, and affordable housing. Housing programs include transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, senior affordable housing, and affordable housing for individuals and families. 

Access Living is a local non-profit that serves people with disabilities. Their services include home and community-based services, housing services, legal services, youth programs, and consulting and training for businesses and nonprofits. Housing-related services include housing counseling, housing search assistance, housing transition support, legal services for disability-related housing discrimination, and referrals to home and community-based services. 

This alliance organization acts as a planning body and resource hub for other organizations working to end homelessness. The Alliance seeks to standardize and expedite the process by which people at risk of homelessness are able to access shelter, housing, and resources.

This directory contains a list of all licensed facilities that offer assisted living and shared housing options for older adults in Illinois. Information in this directory can be viewed in a database format that allows users to filter information to fit individual needs.

Bickerdike is a non-profit organization focused on the redevelopment of West Town, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, Hermosa, and Avondale. Within these neighborhoods, Bickerdike invests in affordable housing development and preservation, economic development with a focus on jobs, and leadership development. In addition to rental housing units, they also provide technical service and assistance to renters and homeowners, and small accessible repairs for seniors. 

Run by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, this neighborhood center offers free wellness classes and workshops, and connects community members with Health Educators as well as additional resources and services. Local community groups and nonprofits can also reserve their community room at no cost for meetings and other activities.

Breakthrough is a faith-based, non-profit organization that operates in East Garfield Park. Services include education and youth development programs, workforce development, health and wellness centers, violence prevention efforts, and housing programs. Housing programs include permanent supportive housing for unaccompanied adults and for families, transitional housing for unaccompanied men and women, and a daytime support center that can connect adults to a variety of resources. 

This Illinois state program helps qualifying residents pay for rental housing as they seek permanent help through another program or are able to afford their own unit. Qualifying residents must be on a waiting list for rental assistance from a public housing authority or register for rental assistance when it is possible to do so. 

Cabrini Green offers low cost legal services on a sliding scale based on income.

The Calumet Area Industrial Commission initiates, promotes, and supports programs that are directly related to economic opportunities, workforce development, and industrial retention and expansion in the far South Side of Chicago. The organization provides free job placement services within area industry.
